Joy Cahill is the proud owner and CEO of Cahill Studios, a full-service volume photography company based in Amery, WI. Family owned and operated since 1978, Cahill Studios is celebrating 2018 with 40 years in business. Eager to carry on the Cahill Brand, Joy purchased the family business from her parents, Pat and Merry Cahill in 2014. Upon purchasing Cahill Studios, a decision was made to discontinue all portrait divisions and focus solely on volume photography, the most profitable division of Cahill Studios. Running with Joy’s motto “Work Smarter, Not Harder” Cahill Studios has seen a growth of over 40% in the last 4 years by automating workflows and getting back to the basics. “We only make money taking and selling pictures, everything else is an expense.”
Joy along with her family, Bruce and 1-year old son Lincoln live in Amery, a small community in Northwestern Wisconsin. Finding balance between being a mother and an entrepreneur is a whole new adventure that Joy is taking by storm. As avid outdoors people, Joy and her family love hunting, fishing, camping and spending time with family and friends doing anything outside. Running and hiking are also some of Joy’s favorite pastimes. “There is nothing like a good run to clear your mind and reset your focus”.

For many, a school picture is the only professional portrait they will ever have taken and parents, grandparents and students still like and buy printed images. However, they demand access to those same digital files to share on social media with friends and family. Schools, sports teams, leagues and dance studios now rely on their school photographer to help build a positive brand and market themselves for recruitment in their competitive markets. Cahill Studios has utilized new workflows and sales techniques to meet the digital demands, increase participation rates and build the Cahill Studios brand. In her program, Joy will talk about ways to increase participation rates and sales by removing friction points associated with traditional pre-pay sales, successful digital delivery, automating workflow, data control, building their brand and brand marketing for their clients.
