Biography

Chris Wooley loves helping photographers learn and grow while embracing the community of our industry. He strongly believes in helping others understand the “why” of the different techniques and technical approaches.

Chris leads both short classes as well as longer “merited” events across the US. He is one of those photographers that balances the technical with the artistic to create engaging and practical educational events for attendees.

Chris is a commercial and portrait artist residing in the Pacific Northwest (Spokane, WA). Notably, he has a retail portrait studio where they specialize in retro-inspired Pin-Up Portraits, promotional portfolios for actors and models, and working with small businesses to create effective advertising assets.  He runs his studio with his wife, Rachel.

Accomplishments include: Professional Photographers of America “Master Photographer” and “Photographic Craftsman” degrees, Certified Professional Photographer status, CPP Liaison, Council Member, American Society of Photographers Ambassador, Past-President of the Professional Photographers of Washington, Fellow degree from the Professional Photographers of Washington, and the National Award Recipient.  He also has multiple image awards, including the “Fuji Masterpiece Award”, “American Color Imaging  Excellence Award”, and multiple state “Best Of’ awards.

His favorite products from ACI include Metal Prints for wall art (his signature look), the Riveli Albums for collections, and Tri-Fold Press Cards for marketing materials.

Learn about adding boudoir’s classy cousin to your studio offerings.  The pin-up lifestyle has a cult following with modern women – be it the romance of an era past, the rockabilly revitalization, or flattering poses for larger ladies.  Pin-ups are here to stay!  Learn the basics in this demonstrated workshop.  We will look at pin-up styles, lighting, posing, and coaching for photographers. Learn what to look for in a make-up artist, as well as what you need to know to add pin-ups to your product line.

Non-Techy tips for increasing your website rankings!  Search Engine Optimization (SEO) is the official tech words for our ranking or position when someone does a search for your business. The better your SEO the higher your photography website will show up when someone does a search looking for a photographer. Having a well ranking website can be a great way to attract new clients.
