Biography

Ella Putney Carlson, M.Photog.,M.Artist,Cr.,CPP,EA-ASP has been a PPA Photographer of the Year 9 times in 9 years of competition, including Diamond Photographer of the Year in both 2015 and 2016. She has been teaching digital imaging with Photoshop at the University of Mass, Lowell since the late 1990’s. Her work has been exhibited in museums and galleries and her book on Photoshop in Fine Art will be published in 2017.

Photoshop Immersion – Full Day Class

Spend a day exploring ways to expand your creativity with Photoshop. Ella will demonstrate how to make more effective selections, how to use blend modes to save time as well as create Photoshop magic, how to create custom brushes and how to paint using just Photoshop (not Painter). She will also cover retouching, image stacking, and compositing techniques as well as a number of other tips and techniques she’s learned in twenty years of working with and teaching Photoshop.

 

Photoshop Immersion – Half or Full Day Class

Learn how to create paintings using the latest brushes and filters in Photoshop, or how to take an image of an ordinary object and from it, create something special and unique. In this class, Ella will talk about ways to create dimension, fantasy, mood, and how to play with digital lighting effects. The emphasis is on creating art, and then Ella will talk about finding venues to display and sell the fine art pieces you’ve created.
