Lisa Asp

M. Photog., M. Artist, Cr., CPP, APAI / Tangerine House of Design

Biography

Lisa believes that dogs and humans are inherently connected, having co-evolved over millennia, and they thrive together more than apart. Her journey into animal advocacy began in 2001 when she adopted Jersey, a retired racing greyhound. This experience opened her eyes to the plight of greyhounds and other shelter animals. Recognizing the impact of each dollar raised and every pet adopted, Lisa became actively involved in animal welfare. She volunteered at events, educated others about greyhounds, and took portraits of adoptable dogs to aid their adoption. Lisa also collaborated with several rescue organizations to create fundraising pet calendars. Initially a versatile photographer handling various subjects, Lisa shifted her focus exclusively to pet portraits after moving to Minnesota in 2011, where she embraced the opportunity to specialize.

Lisa has received numerous accolades, including five Kodak Gallery Awards, Fuji Masterpiece, and multiple PPA District and IPC awards, achieving PPA “Photographer of the Year” for ten consecutive years and being recognized as an “Elite Plus” member. She dedicates her time to photographing adoptable animals, fostering, and supporting fundraisers and food drives for pet rescues. Her passion extends to wildlife and landscape photography. Lisa has served as president of the Twin Cities Professional Photography Association, founded the Animal Image Makers Conference, and is a PPA Councilor.

Her favorite products from ACI are Large Photo Prints, Memory Books, and Riveli Albums.
